A resident of Suleja, Niger State, Malam Muhammad Idris, has been diagnosed with a life-threatening cardiac condition and urgently requires open-heart surgery, which medical experts say must be performed outside the country.

According to medical reports from cardiologists at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, Malam Idris is suffering from advanced cardiomyopathy—a serious disease of the heart muscle that affects its ability to pump blood effectively. Despite undergoing several rounds of treatment, his condition has worsened over time.

Following extensive cardiac assessments, including echocardiograms and other diagnostic procedures, cardiologists have concluded that surgical intervention is the only viable solution. The cost of the required open-heart surgery is estimated at ₦8,000,000 (Eight Million Naira), and the procedure must be carried out abroad due to its complexity and the specialised care required.

Family sources say that all personal and family savings have been exhausted in pursuit of treatment.

Call for Assistance

The family is now appealing to the general public, kind-hearted individuals, faith-based organisations, and philanthropic groups to help raise the required funds to save his life.

Donations can be sent to the following account:
Bank Name: First Bank
Account Number: 3065483911
Account Name: Adamu Muhammad Shu’aibu

The family and well-wishers continue to pray for Malam Idris’ full recovery and are hopeful that timely public support will help save his life.
