The Fulani Youth group under the platform Say Bago Again has called on the All Progressives Congress (APC) chairmanship candidate for Bosso Local Government Area, Hon. Abdullahi Laka, to avoid engaging in politics that could promote division or discrimination among supporters’ groups.
The call was made by the State Director of Programmes of the group, Alhaji Shehu Usman Jita, in a statement issued in Minna by the group’s Director of Publicity, Comrade Awwal Umar.
Jita expressed concern that despite the group’s visible commitment to the APC and Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago’s administration, Hon. Laka has allegedly sidelined them in his campaign engagements. He warned that such an attitude could affect political unity and voter enthusiasm in the forthcoming local government elections.
“We, the Fulani community—especially the youth—have been steadfast in supporting the APC and the government of Farmer Governor Umaru Bago. But if Hon. Laka continues to neglect our group, we may lose confidence in his leadership,” Jita said.
He reminded the APC candidate that the Say Bago Again group was formed to promote the governor’s developmental vision for Niger State, including fostering unity, progress, and economic growth.
Jita urged Fulani youths across Bosso Local Government to remain united, safeguard their voter cards, and continue supporting Governor Bago’s administration, which he described as committed to reforms that benefit all communities.
He commended members of the Say Bago Again movement for their dedication to mobilizing support and strengthening unity among Fulani youths in the state.
Local government elections in Niger State are expected to hold in early November, with the ruling APC among the leading parties contesting the polls.
