The Board of Trustees of Tazkiyah University, Kaduna, has approved the appointment of Professor (Mrs) Bilkisu Aminu Shinkafi as the substantive Vice Chancellor of the institution. Her appointment takes immediate effect and will span a five-year tenure.
Professor Shinkafi, a renowned academic from the Department of Zoology, University of Abuja, brings to the role over two decades of experience in teaching, research, and university administration. She has previously served as Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic), Dean of the Faculty of Science, and Member of the Governing Council at the Federal University, Gusau.
According to a statement from the Office of the Proprietor, Tazkiyah University, Kaduna, Professor Shinkafi is also a presidential appointee in the Governing Council of the Federal College of Education (Technical), Gusau. The statement highlighted her strong academic background and leadership qualities as key assets for the university’s growth and development.
Professor Shinkafi is an active member of several professional organizations, including the Science Association of Nigeria, the Fisheries Society of Nigeria, and the Association of African Universities. Her appointment has been received with enthusiasm within the university community, which expressed confidence in her ability to advance the institution’s vision.
The Board of Trustees and entire Tazkiyah University community congratulated Professor Shinkafi on her appointment and wished her a successful tenure in office.
