Niger State Governor, Farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago, has received an Award of Excellence in Governance from the National Council of Muslim Youth Organisations (NACOMYO).
The honour was presented to the governor during the 2025 National Political Summit (Ekiti 2025), organised by NACOMYO and held in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State.
Presenting the award, the President of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), Ekiti State Chapter, Dr. Ahmed Afolabi Bakare, said the recognition was in appreciation of Governor Bago’s outstanding leadership and transformative governance style.
In his acceptance remarks, Governor Bago, represented by the Director-General, Niger State Bureau for Religious Affairs, Malam Umar Faruk Abdullahi, expressed gratitude to the organisation for the honour, noting that it would further motivate him to continue serving humanity with renewed dedication.
The governor urged members of Islamic organisations to uphold integrity, accountability, and a deep sense of responsibility in their leadership roles. He also called on them to be advocates of positive change, competence, and sustainable development, stressing the need for collective efforts in building an economically vibrant and self-reliant society.
The theme of the 2025 NACOMYO National Political Summit was:
