The National Working Committee (NWC) and the 2025 National Convention Organizing Committee (NCOC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have clarified that the Party's National Convention has not been postponed and will hold as scheduled on Saturday, 15th to Sunday, 16th November, 2025, in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
This clarification was contained in a statement signed by Hon. Debo Ologunagba, the PDP National Publicity Secretary and Secretary of the Publicity and Communication sub-committee of the NCOC.
The statement was made available to journalists in Bauchi by Usman Shehu Usman, the State Commissioner for Information on Wednesday.
The statement urged party members and the general public to disregard misleading claims suggesting that the convention has been postponed, describing them as the handiwork of individuals allegedly recruited by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to create confusion and undermine the PDP's activities.
"We are aware of plots by the APC to destabilise the opposition and impose a one-party state on the nation. Such attempts will be lawfully resisted," the statement read.
The PDP leadership reaffirmed its readiness and determination to conduct a successful National Convention in Ibadan, noting that all necessary arrangements are already in place.
While expressing appreciation to Nigerians for their continued support, the NCOC welcomed all delegates, party leaders, officials, and supporters who have begun arriving in Ibadan ahead of the convention.
"The PDP remains united, focused, and fully committed to strengthening democracy and offering Nigerians a credible alternative," the statement concluded.
