S24 Television has unveiled its newly formed Advisory Board, bringing together prominent professionals from media, academia, and civil society to strengthen governance, editorial standards, and institutional growth.
The board features well-known figures, including Halima Abdulra’uf, CEO of S24 TV and former Voice of America (VOA) Hausa Service staff; former Presidential Spokesperson Malam Garba Shehu; human rights activist Auwal Ibrahim Musa Rafsanjani; academic Prof. Mainasara Kurfi; and ex-Director-General of the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), Dr. Balarabe Shehu Illela.
Speaking at the unveiling on Wednesday, Halima Abdulra’uf described the establishment of the board as a strategic move to enhance professionalism, accountability, and long-term sustainability at the station.
“This Advisory Board reflects our commitment to high editorial standards and positions S24 Television as a trusted platform for national conversations and development-focused media,” she said.
According to management, the board will provide guidance on editorial policies, programming direction, corporate governance, partnerships, and institutional development, while ensuring the station maintains its editorial independence.
Lead consultant John Coster emphasised that ethics and professionalism remain central to the station’s vision and operations.
On behalf of the board, Malam Garba Shehu expressed appreciation for the opportunity to contribute to S24 TV’s growth. He noted the media’s critical role in shaping public opinion and strengthening democratic values, pledging support for ethical journalism, responsible storytelling, and impactful media engagement reflecting Nigerians’ aspirations.
The creation of the Advisory Board is part of S24 Television’s broader expansion strategy as the station continues to invest in quality programming, audience engagement, and cross-sector partnerships.
