NILEST Gets Green Light to Offer Degree Programmes Through University Affiliations
The National Institute for Leather and Science Technology (NILEST) has received formal approval from Bayero University Kano (BUK) to run Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) programmes in Industrial Chemistry and Environmental Management through academic affiliation.
In a parallel development, the Federal University Dutse (FUD) has also partnered with NILEST to offer B.Sc. programmes in Biotechnology and Microbiology under affiliation agreements.
Both BUK and FUD conducted thorough resource verification and facility inspections at NILEST prior to granting approval. Following these evaluations, recommendations were submitted to the universities’ Senates, which formally approved the proposed degree programmes.
This milestone marks a significant step forward for NILEST, enhancing its academic portfolio and expanding opportunities for students to earn fully accredited degrees in critical scientific fields.
