Nigeria’s National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, was among prominent figures who attended the Janazah (funeral prayer) for the mother of former Kaduna State governor, Nasir el-Rufai, at the National Mosque in Abuja.

Other notable personalities present included former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar; Chairman of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote; and the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

Also in attendance were former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi; former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami; former Sokoto State governor, Aminu Tambuwal; former Kaduna senator, Shehu Sani; and former Aviation Minister, Osita Chidoka.

Among serving governors present were Babagana Zulum, Uba Sani, and Umar Bago.

Following the funeral prayer, the remains of the deceased, Hajiya Umma El-Rufai, were laid to rest at the Gudu Cemetery in Apo.
