Zahra Relief Foundation, a leading humanitarian organisation, has successfully concluded its Ramadan feeding program and Zakatul Fitr distribution for the blessed year of 1447 AH, reaching thousands of vulnerable and needy individuals across multiple states.
During the Ramadan feeding initiative, the foundation provided 3,500 meals at 16 locations across Abuja, Kano, Sokoto, Bauchi, Potiskum, and Gombe. On average, 200–300 individuals were fed daily, supported by ₦1,412,200 in donations from 291 generous benefactors. Beneficiaries included refugees, patients, the impoverished, inmates, and other marginalised members of society, ensuring that the blessings of Ramadan reached those most in need.
In the Zakatul Fitr program, 170 recipients were assisted directly through the foundation, receiving a total of ₦527,297 in cash and 25 bags of rice. Distribution was carried out in 9 districts of Abuja: Gwagwalada, Suleja, Karmo, Dei-Dei, Maraba, Pape, Jahi, Karumaniji, and Keffi.
A total of 39 households benefited, touching the lives of 367 individuals. Cash allocations ranged from ₦20,000, ₦15,000, to ₦10,000, while rice was distributed in 14 and 13 bags, respectively. The beneficiaries included widows, the destitute, patients, and other individuals in need, reflecting the foundation’s commitment to fulfilling the Islamic obligation of helping the less fortunate.
Abdulrahman Muhammad, Head of Communications at Zahra Relief, expressed profound gratitude to all supporters, including donors, social media advocates, community reporters, and foundation staff across all locations, whose contributions ensured the success of these humanitarian initiatives.
He emphasised that Zahra Relief’s mission extends beyond Ramadan and Zakatul Fitr, encompassing healthcare, education, vocational training, support for refugees and orphans, emergency relief, prison outreach, and community development programs, thereby embodying the principles of compassion, charity, and service to humanity.
The foundation prays for continued support from the faithful and generous community, so that its work of saving lives and alleviating suffering may continue throughout the year.
