The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has disclosed that a total of 793,858 applicants have been disqualified at various stages of its ongoing nationwide recruitment exercise.

The board, Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board, released a comprehensive breakdown of applications, screening outcomes and examination performance, offering insight into the scale and competitiveness of the exercise.

According to the data, 1,120,491 applications were successfully completed and processed, qualifying candidates for the examination stage. In contrast, 432,935 applications were deemed incomplete, while 360,923 applicants were disqualified during the shortlisting phase after screening checks.

Overall, the exercise attracted over 1.8 million applications nationwide, reflecting strong interest in paramilitary employment opportunities.

Agencies Involved

The recruitment covers key paramilitary agencies under the board, including the Nigeria Immigration Service, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Federal Fire Service, and the Nigeria Correctional Service.

Performance Breakdown

The board also published national results from the computer-based test (CBT), indicating that the majority of candidates scored within the 61–80 range, suggesting average-to-strong performance levels. Candidates who scored above 80 constituted a smaller proportion of the total.

Next Phase

The next stage of the recruitment will involve physical screening and verification of credentials. Shortlisted candidates are expected to receive notifications detailing screening dates, venues and required documentation.

Only applicants who meet the performance thresholds and successfully pass the screening process will advance.

The board reiterated that the recruitment exercise is entirely free and cautioned applicants against misinformation, urging them to rely solely on official communication channels for updates.

The clarification comes amid earlier concerns raised by applicants over intermittent access to the recruitment portal and delays in communication.
