Farmer Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago of Niger State has reiterated his administration’s commitment to protecting the rights and welfare of children across the state.
In a congratulatory message issued through his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, to mark this year’s Children’s Day celebration, the governor said safeguarding the rights of children would protect them from various forms of abuse and hardship.
Governor Bago acknowledged that children are the future leaders of society, stressing the need to provide them with quality education and proper guidance to prepare them for future responsibilities.
The governor also expressed concern over the rising rate of social vices involving children, describing the trend as worrisome.
He called on parents, guardians, and teachers to intensify efforts toward instilling good moral values and discipline in children in order to raise responsible and productive citizens.
“We need to protect the rights of our children, provide them with quality education, and inculcate good morals and virtues in them so that they will become responsible individuals and contribute positively to society,” he stated.
Governor Bago further prayed for divine guidance and protection for Nigerian children, urging them to remain focused on the path of greatness and national development.
