A prominent young politician from Soba Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Hon. Abdullahi Yallow Maigana, has declared his intention to contest the House of Representatives seat for the Soba/Maigana Federal Constituency under the platform of the National Democratic Coalition (NDC).
Speaking with journalists, Hon. Abdullahi Yallow said he decided to defect from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to the NDC to pursue a new political direction aimed at delivering meaningful development to the people of the constituency.
He said he had spent many years in active politics, contesting elections and serving in various capacities within the PDP, but believed the time had come to embrace a new political platform that would better serve the interests of the people.
According to him, the people of the constituency have endured prolonged hardship, and his primary goal is to promote sustainable development and improve their standard of living.
Hon. Abdullahi Yallow stated that, if elected, he would prioritise youth employment, improve education and healthcare, strengthen security, and promote agriculture and livestock farming, which he described as the backbone of the local economy.
He also pledged to empower women by creating opportunities for their greater participation in community development, stressing that their contributions to society are indispensable.
The House of Representatives hopeful called on NDC supporters to serve as good ambassadors of the party by peacefully educating the public about its policies and programmes while upholding honesty and respect for the rule of law.
He further urged young people to remain peaceful and support the NDC in its quest to bring about the positive change the people of Soba/Maigana desire.
In his remarks, the NDC Chairman for Soba Local Government Area, Hon. Yayo, said the party would continue working tirelessly to secure victory in the forthcoming elections.
He expressed confidence that, by the grace of God, the party would emerge victorious.
Also speaking, the NDC Women's Leader in Soba Local Government Area, Molina Jonathan, said women and men across the area were fully prepared to support the party because of its vision for development and commitment to improving the lives of the people.
She urged women throughout the constituency to rally behind Hon. Abdullahi Yallow Maigana and support his aspiration.
Similarly, the NDC Youth Leader for Soba Local Government Area, Abubakar Raiyanu, affirmed that the youth would give Hon. Abdullahi Yallow Maigana their full support, saying they were inspired by his vision and commitment to the development of the constituency.
The gathering reflected the NDC's growing efforts to strengthen its presence in Soba Local Government Area, with party leaders and supporters expressing optimism about securing widespread public support in the forthcoming general elections.
