Al-Muhibbah Open University, in collaboration with Innovation Path Limited, has announced plans to host the Data-Driven Innovation for Societal Impact (DISI) Summit 2026, aimed at promoting the use of data and emerging technologies to accelerate national development.

The summit, themed "From Data to Impact: Driving Innovation for National Development," is scheduled to hold on August 20, 2026, at the Abuja Continental Hotel, Abuja.

According to the organisers, the event is expected to attract more than 300 researchers, innovators, academics, policymakers and industry leaders from across the country to deliberate on the role of data-driven innovation in governance, education, business and other critical sectors.

Speaking on the forthcoming summit, the management of Al-Muhibbah Open University said the event would provide a platform for participants to exchange ideas, showcase research findings and strengthen collaboration among academia, government, industry and development partners.

The director media and communications of the organization, Dr Maryam Garba, FHEA, FRSS, said the institution was committed to positioning itself at the forefront of data-driven development in Nigeria.

"We are proud to organise the DISI Summit 2026. This summit represents a significant step towards positioning Al-Muhibbah Open University at the forefront of data-driven development in Nigeria. It will foster meaningful collaboration between academia, government, industry and development organisations, and highlight the critical role of data in shaping policies and driving sustainable growth," she said.

The organisers added that registration for the summit has commenced, urging interested individuals, institutions and organisations to register through the official summit portal.

The summit is being organised by Innovation Path Limited as part of efforts to promote innovation, research collaboration and evidence-based policymaking for sustainable national development.
