The National Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission (N-HYPPADEC) has flagged off the distribution of relief materials to flood victims and farm inputs to farmers in Baruten, Edu, Kaima, Moro, and Patigi Local Government Areas of Kwara State.
The intervention is aimed at providing relief to victims of flooding and supporting farmers who suffered significant losses during the 2025 dry season. The farm inputs are also expected to boost agricultural productivity and enhance socio-economic activities across the five N-HYPPADEC member local government areas in the state.
The distribution exercise was officially flagged off by the Managing Director of N-HYPPADEC, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa, FCNA, FNIM, FNIIS (Katukan Yauri), alongside the Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, who was represented by the Commissioner for Livestock Development and Supervising Commissioner for Agriculture, Mrs. Oloruntoyosi Thomas Adebayo.
The event was attended by the Emir of Tsonga, His Royal Highness Dr. Haliru Yahaya Ndanusa, CON, a representative of the Emir of Patigi, and the chairmen of Kaima, Edu, Moro, Baruten, and Patigi Local Government Areas.
Speaking at the event, beneficiaries commended N-HYPPADEC for the intervention, describing it as timely and impactful. They assured the commission that the relief materials and farm inputs would be put to proper use in line with the objectives of the programme.
