The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bauchi State has unveiled Hon. Alhaji Abdulkadir Alin Bababa as its deputy governorship candidate for the forthcoming governorship election.
Bababa, who hails from the Bauchi South Senatorial District, was presented with his certificate of nomination during the official inauguration of the party's newly established state secretariat along Kobi Road in Bauchi on Sunday.
The PDP governorship candidate, Alhaji Usman Adamu Suphi, is from the Bauchi North Senatorial District.
Earlier, thousands of PDP supporters from the 20 local government areas of the state staged a colourful procession to welcome Suphi on his arrival at Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa International Airport, escorting him to Bauchi metropolis.
The procession, attended by party leaders, members and supporters from across the state, culminated in the commissioning of the new PDP state secretariat and the formal presentation of Bababa as the party's deputy governorship candidate.
Speaking at the event, Suphi expressed appreciation to the people of Bauchi State for the warm reception and overwhelming support accorded to him and the party.
He assured supporters of the PDP's commitment to providing purposeful leadership and pledged to work towards the development and progress of Bauchi State if elected.
