Governor Reaffirms Commitment to Academic Excellence as Abdulkadir Kure University Targets National Recognition
Niger State Governor, Farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago, has reaffirmed his administration's commitment to strengthening higher education with the donation of official vehicles to the management of Abdulkadir Kure University, Minna (AKUM).
The presentation, which took place at the Niger State Liaison Office in Abuja, is another demonstration of the Governor's determination to reposition tertiary education as a key driver of human capital development under the New Niger Agenda.
Presenting the vehicles, Governor Bago said the gesture was aimed at improving the efficiency of the university's management and enabling its officials to discharge their responsibilities more effectively. The Governor explained that the provision of the vehicles would ease the movement of management staff, enhance administrative coordination, and encourage greater commitment to duty.

The Governor reminded the management that the university now operates alongside established institutions such as Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai, and the newly approved Abdulsalami Abubakar University of Agriculture and Climate Action, Mokwa, making it imperative for AKUM to distinguish itself through excellence in teaching, research, and innovation.
According to him, healthy competition among universities should inspire excellence, encourage innovation, and improve educational standards across the state.
Governor Bago assured the management that his administration would continue to prioritise the welfare of lecturers and other university personnel, describing academic staff as critical partners in achieving sustainable development.
