The Niger State Government has commenced the payment of retirement benefits and death gratuity to eligible Local and State Government pensioners across the state.

The payment covers Batch 12 of the State Government gratuity, Batch One of the State Government death gratuity, and Batch Three of the Local Government gratuity.

State Government beneficiaries have already started collecting their cheques at the Niger State Pension Board Headquarters in Minna, while Local Government gratuity beneficiaries from Zone A are collecting theirs at the Bida Local Government Secretariat.

Local Government beneficiaries from Zone B are collecting their cheques at the Niger State Pension Board Headquarters in Minna, while their counterparts from Zone C are simultaneously receiving theirs at the Kontagora Local Government Secretariat.

The Niger State Government, under the leadership of the Farmer Governor, remains committed to ensuring the timely payment of all approved retirement benefits.

The initiative underscores the administration’s commitment to prioritising the welfare of senior citizens who dedicated many years of service to the development and growth of the state.

Meanwhile, representatives from some northern states are studying the activities of the Niger State Pension Board following the appreciable progress recorded by the board in the payment of retirement benefits to pensioners.
