Former Vice President and 2027 presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Atiku Abubakar, has endorsed the Tinubu Must Go (TMG) Nationwide Campaign, describing its recently concluded nationwide poll as a reflection of growing citizen engagement and demand for political change.
Atiku made the statement in a Facebook post on Monday, September 28, 2026, following a meeting with Abba Hikima, one of the leading conveners of the TMG campaign.
According to Atiku, the nationwide poll recorded 109,799 respondents, with his candidacy receiving 73.6 per cent of the votes. He added that the African Democratic Congress emerged as the preferred political platform in the exercise.
Atiku said the significance of the poll went beyond its outcome, arguing that it represented what he described as a “growing national yearning for change” and a collective determination to alter the country’s current trajectory.
“I fully endorse the movement and invite all Nigerians who share this aspiration to join this noble cause,” Atiku stated.
He further said he looked forward to engaging with the wider national leadership of the Tinubu Must Go movement, with the aim of working towards what he described as the rebuilding of a “united, prosperous and democratic Nigeria.”
The TMG campaign has been advocating against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration and is seeking political change ahead of the 2027 general elections.
