On Thursday the 24/9/2020 family members of Sheikh Zakzaky paid condolence visit to Zaria emirate Council over the passing away of Emir of Zazzau Dr Shehu Idris. The family comprised of the Sheikh Elder son Muhammad Ibraheem Zakzaky, brother to the Sheikh Mallam Badamasi Yaqoub and Saeed A. Bala among others.
They arrived at about 1pm local time and were received by the Protocol Officer of the Zazzau's Palace who introduced them to family of the deceased and members of the emirate Council.
Speaking on behalf of the Sheikh at the Palace, Sayyid Badamasi yaqoub introduced himself, saying:
"We are part of the family members of Sheikh Zakzaky. We visited the Sheikh in Kaduna Prison yesterday and informed him about a condolence visit paid to the palace by the Sheikh’s disciple days ago, he said paying condolence to the family by his disciples and followers is insufficient, his blood relations must pay a visit on his behalf, which is the purpose of our visit today on behalf of the Sheikh to condole with you and the family of the deceased…"
Mallam Badamasi further said ".. The Sheikh insisted that his son Muhammad should be included in the visiting team along other family members including myself as his junior brother. We hereby condole with family and council members and all the Muslim Ummah over the passing away of His Highness. Honestly, the loss of the Emir is not only a loss to his famly as other people say, it is a loss to the Muslim Ummah as a whole."
At the end, Mallam Badamasi offered a prayer to the soul of the deceased.
Speaking on behalf of the emirate council, the Dokaji of Zazzau emirate council thanked the delegate, saying "On behalf of the family and entire members of this Emirate, I want to extend our gratitude to Sheikh Zakzaky by sharing with us the sorrow of this great loss."
