On Saturday, October 1, 2022, in line with Nigeria's Independence Day, MGK Healthcare Hospital in Kano held an event to celebrate Nigeria’s 62nd Independence Day anniversary. During the event, they also organized dinner, honors their staff, and extend their appreciation to their associates. In addition, the Health Centre unveiled its new identity in an attempt to improve the services of the hospital. 

The event took place at the hospital premises situated at Plot 53 Karkasara road, beside AKTH, New Exit Gate, Kano State.

In his speech, the founder and Managing Director of the Hospital, Malam Muhammad Garba, said that the purpose of organizing the event is to celebrate and pray for the country's 62nd Independence Day anniversary; "We would like to use this opportunity to celebrate and honors our staff, praise them for their resilient and courage for the well-done job".

"to also extend our appreciation to our associates; to the doctors. No place is built by a single person. Everyone contributes to the growth and development of services to the patients for humanity", he said. 

He further added; "let's felicitate with each other to honor some of us for their resilient, we hope others would emulate them. We all gathered to serve humanity and its needs. We thank our associates who reposed their confidence in us". 

Malam Muhammad Garba noted that; "The health industry is an avenue that needs all and sundry contributions to serve humanity".

He said the private health industry is not competing in any way with the government; "Wherever you go around the world, it is not only the government that takes care of the health sector. Everywhere in the world, you go to some health facilities that are privately owned. These facilities are not rivals to the government, they complement the government effort", he stressed.

"In our effort to improve the health services of MGK, a month ago, we signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Doctors from Egypt to exchange knowledge in the healthcare industry and improve our service delivery. We agreed to work together. They are physically here with us. We will enhance the treatment of patients here at MGK as if they were abroad. The doctors from Egypt will continue to guide the staff we have", he stressed. 

In his remark, the Chief Operating Officer of MGK Healthcare, Pharm. Isma'il Usman said the hospital was established in 2016. It started with a pharmaceutical unit and later grew year by year the Hospital now operates 24 hours a day with multiple units that include a General outpatients Clinic, Inpatient Clinic, Obstetrics & Gyenecology clinic, Cardiology, Gastroentrology, Neurology, ENT, Paediatric, General Surgery, pharmaceutical, Laboratory, radiology, orthopaedic and dental surgery clinic among others.

He added that they have done many surgeries in many areas because they have professional doctors and many general physicians and other specialists offering their expertise to both outpatients and inpatients.

According to him, they have much medical expertise in various fields and are doing their job in the hospital to treat minor and major ailments with modern technological equipment that facilitates their work to improve the health services for humanity. 

In an attempt to expand the hospital services, Pharm Isma'il reiterated that they have planned to create many branches across Kano state, Northern states, and Nigeria at large. "We believe that in the future, MGK Healthcare will reach a level that we will be able to start producing drugs that we will be using in our hospitals and other hospitals in Nigeria and around the world", he said.

After his speech, the new identity of MGK Healthcare which is red and white was unveiled to the participants of the event.
