The African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate for the 2027 Kaduna State election, Rt. Hon. Isa Mohammed Ashiru, has announced Barrister Irmiya Ishaku Kantiok as his running mate.
Ashiru made the announcement in a statement on Tuesday, describing Kantiok as an experienced legal practitioner and seasoned legislator whose credentials would strengthen the party's bid to govern Kaduna State.
According to the ADC governorship candidate, Kantiok, a former three-term member of the Kaduna State House of Assembly who represented Zonkwa Constituency, possesses the experience, integrity, and resilience required to contribute to the state's development.
Ashiru said Kantiok's achievements in the legal profession and his years of legislative service demonstrate his commitment to justice, good governance, equitable development, and service to the people.
He also praised his running mate's steadfastness during challenging political periods, saying his character had been tested and proven.
The ADC governorship candidate expressed confidence that their joint ticket would offer the people of Kaduna State a credible alternative ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
"Together, we will build a united Kaduna State where the rule of law prevails, young people are empowered, infrastructure is developed, and every part of the state enjoys inclusive growth. This is a ticket of experience, competence, and vision for a greater and more prosperous Kaduna State," Ashiru stated.
