The Corps Marshal, Federal Road Safety Corps, Dauda Ali Biu explained how they mitigate road accidents during Eid Fitr celebrations, DAILY STRUGGLE reported.
The Corps Marshal disclosed this while interacting with journalists in Zaria during ‘Hawan Daushe’ ceremony that took place on Sunday at Zazzau Emirates in Kaduna State.
Dauda Biu explained why he was at the event “We are here to grace the Sallah occasion and to also celebrate with the people of Zaria emirate, with the Emir and governor of Kaduna state. This is our essence of being here”.
The Corps Marshal why explaining this year’s Sallah celebration said the festival has been peaceful and there was no report of gridlock incident. “From our perspective, we have eased the movement of traffic and we also control crashes. That is what we did during the Sallah celebration. We would do it even beyond because there is a lot of movement now, people going for celebration and after that, they will return to their bases”, he said.
“We are on the ground, we are on the road”, he assured.
While assessing the work of the men of FRSC and other law enforcement agencies, the Corps Marshal stressed that he travelled from Abuja to Zaria by road and despite anticipating gridlock movement on the road was free; “we are grateful to God almighty with the deployment of our men especially on Kaduna-Abuja axis we are able to ensure that there is a peaceful movement. There is no single gridlock”, he said.
He commended the men of FRSC and other law enforcement agencies for the work done during the Sallah celebration; “I want to commend the FRSC men and other law enforcement agencies for the good work”.
