The 33 artillery brigade of Nigerian Army Bauchi has emerged first at the end of the 3 division 2023 inter-brigade officers combat proficiency competition in Bauchi 

This medium reports that 75 officers were drawn from 3 Division units and formations of Jos, Bauchi, Gombe Taraba and Adamawa.

They competed in combat map reading, weapon handling and tug of war. The 33 artillery brigade Bauchi emerged overall winner in the competition in three out of the four exercises ending Friday in Bauchi.

The General Officer Commanding (GOC),3 Division, Nigerian Army, Maj. Gen. Abdulsalam Abubakar lauded the 3 Division and was proud of winning fantastic trophies.

"To the winners of trophies for various events, winners of individual awards and the overall winners, I say well done, keep it up. 

"To those not so lucky this time around, I call on you to brace up for the challenge, and prepare better for subsequent competitions and training exercises and I am sure you will make it another time.

He noted that the level of insecurity in the country and the world at large requires consistent training of personnel to enable us to secure, the lives and property of law-abiding citizens.

"Therefore, this competition was organised with the aim of training officers and soldiers for quick response to emerging threats in the discharging of our roles in a joint environment with our sister services and other security agencies. 

"I urge you to remain resolute, committed and steadfast in discharging your constitutional roles. 

"Your professional conduct as trained personnel are now needed, more than ever before in surmounting the global contemporary security challenges," The GOC said.

In a remark, Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi state commended the military for taking their task with vigour to protect the lives and properties of the citizens.

He advocates for synergy among the security agencies to sustain the relative peace enjoyed in the state.

The Governor, represented by Commissioner of Security and internal affairs, Mr Saddique Bununu assured the state government would continue to support and encourage the good work securities are doing in the state.
