Emir of Zazzau Ambassador Ahmad Nuhu Bamalli has called on Alma mater associations across the country to imbibe the culture of supporting government policy for improvement in the education sector.
The emir made the call during the 40th anniversary of the class of 83 students of Government Day Secondary School Tukur -Tukur Zaria.
Malam Ahmad Nuhu Bamalli explained that the Old Students Association have vital contributions to improving the learning and working environment of their various schools.
The emir represented by Dan Isan Zazzau Alhaji Umar Shehu Idris acknowledged the effort of the old students in providing the college with the necessary logistics to encourage learning at the school.
Chairman of the occasion, Professor Kabir Bala, the Vice Chancellor, Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria, tasked the Alumni association to upgrade the school with modern digital facilities, to meet the present education challenges.
Mr Bala, who was represented by the Director, Institute of E-education, ABU Zaria, Bashir Maina, urged for collaboration with other sets of old students to convert the school into a modern ICT compliance college.
In a speech, the guest speaker former Vice Principal Mr, Samaila Makama Maude expressed happiness that his students excel to hold various positions at all three levels of government across the nation.
Earlier the chairman of the association of class 83 Alhaji Rabiu Ashafa expressed satisfaction with the level of moral upbringing from their teachers which produced positive development in their lives.
In his remarks, Corps Marshal Dauda Biu recipients honoured at the event, express appreciation to all members of the Class of ’83 for the honour done to him.
Dauda Biu appealed to all members to be part of the move of assisting GDSS Zaria as part of payback.
The Corps Marshal said he is always ready to give assistance to the school, particularly in the area of securing the environment.
