NGO to Train Hundreds of Youth and Women with Various Skills Acquisition in Niger

A Non-Governmental Organisation, the Nuhu Ango Foundation, in collaboration with Transtrun Nigeria Limited, has flagged off the skill acquisition training of one hundred women and youth on various skills in Niger State aimed at making them self-reliant.

Flagging off the two-week intensive practical training in Minna, Chairman of the Foundation, Prof Nuhu Aliyu Ango, said the essence of the program is to give back to society what the society gave to them.

Prof Nuhu Ango further explained that it is also to reduce the level of idleness among women and youth, in addition to advancing their capacity as well as making them proficient in different skills to become independent.

He said as a Professor of Business Administration, Corporate Social Responsibility, and Human Resource Management, it has become his duty to serve Allah and humanity, which he said is what he is doing with the little at his disposal, and called on wealthy individuals to follow suit.

Also speaking, the core sponsor of the program and Chief Executive Officer of Transtrun Nigeria Limited, Engineer Abdul Abdulsalam, said the reason why they are targeting the youth is that they are the workforce of any society.

According to Engineer Abdul Abdulsalam, idleness among youth is a great threat to the survival of any nation and stressed the need for all hands to be on deck to address this problem once and for all to succeed.

He also advised politicians to fear Allah and do the needful in ensuring that women and youths are supported to actualize their potentials.

In his welcome address, Dr. Aminu Wushishi maintained that to reduce poverty, the issue of empowerment must be accorded priority at all levels of governance and applauded Prof Nuhu Aliyu Ango for championing the cause of women and youth in the state.

Some of the skills include solar energy, waste management, food processing and storage, computer skills, as well as skin and leather, among others.
