The Representative of the Rt. Hon. Member of the House of Representatives for Numan/Demsa/Lamurde Federal Constituency, Kwamoti La'ori, facilitated by his Aide Dr. A. J. Dennis, made donations of footballs, jerseys, and cash to bolster youth sports development and foster unity in Kwah.
Inspired by the spirit of love, peace, and unity demonstrated by the youth during his visit to commission a block of three classrooms in Kwah, Rt. Hon. Kwamoti pledged ongoing support for local youth clubs and football teams.
One week later, this commitment was fulfilled, with donations presented in the presence of Hama Kwah Chief Nickson Tamuna, Chairman of the Kwah Community Development Association Mr. Pharon Agodi, and other key stakeholders.
During the event, Pastor Zaro Kwah encouraged the youth to shun violence, embrace peace, and pursue meaningful endeavors for personal betterment.
Representatives from the beneficiary clubs expressed gratitude and admiration for the lawmaker, offering prayers for his continued protection and guidance to do more for the community.
In a separate development, Rt. Hon. Kwamoti La'ori urged increased private sector involvement in Nigerian sports development. La'ori initiated this call during the final of the JAGAMATO Unity Football Competition in Ganye, Ganye Local Government, Adamawa State.
As a special guest at the event, La'ori emphasized that sports development should not solely rely on government initiatives. Private sector investment, he stressed, not only benefits athletes but also supports infrastructure and human development.
La'ori highlighted the positive impact of such initiatives, citing the identification of over ten players for European trials by FIFA-accredited agents brought in by competition sponsor Hon. Inuwa Bassi.
He underscored the far-reaching effects of youth engagement in sports, asserting that it not only fosters personal and familial success but also contributes to broader societal well-being.
Moreover, La'ori affirmed the commitment of the National Assembly to enact legislation aimed at ensuring equitable access to quality sporting facilities across the nation.
In closing, he emphasized the role of sports in crime prevention, asserting that increased youth involvement in sporting activities correlates with reduced criminality.
