Nick Imudia, CEO of D.light, a leading innovator in residential solar energy solutions, has died by suicide in his apartment. Imudia, a former Chief Executive Officer of Nigeria’s e-commerce giant Konga, ended his life on the night of Tuesday, June 25, by jumping from the balcony of his Lekki, Lagos apartment.
Before the tragic incident, Imudia made a call to his brother in the United States, giving instructions on how to distribute his wealth in the event of his death. He also contacted his young daughter from a previous relationship, assuring her that he would always be with her and that she only needed to look up at the sky to see him.
His friends, family, and associates are in shock and struggling to understand why he would take his own life.
Imudia, originally from the Ika South local government area of Delta State, was previously married to the mother of his young daughter. The marriage ended due to irreconcilable differences.
