The Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC) has commenced the distribution of vital election materials in preparation for the local government elections scheduled for July 13, 2024, across all 21 local government areas in the state.

ADSIEC Chairman Muhammed Umar informed the media in Yola on Thursday that the distribution would start with local governments farthest from the state capital, Yola. He added that the remaining local governments would receive their materials on Friday.

Umar emphasized the commission’s commitment to conducting free and fair elections, stating, "Distributing essential election materials is a testament to our well-laid plans to ensure free and fair elections. We will make sure the elections are fair."

Honorable Bello Babajo, Chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) in the state, expressed satisfaction with the commission's plans. He encouraged the electorate to come out en masse to vote for their preferred leaders.

According to ADSIEC, approximately 1.5 million people are expected to vote in the upcoming local government elections, and the commission has prepared 2.5 million voting cards.
