Part of the core mandate of the Bauchi Vigilante and Youth Empowerment Agency is to ensure peaceful coexistence, public safety, and empowerment initiatives among Bauchi State citizens.
The State Vigilante and Youth Empowerment Agency, under the leadership of Dr. Umar Aliyu Shayi, has expressed confidence in the administration of Governor Bala Mohammad of Bauchi State.
Dr. Shayi made this known while receiving a delegation of university students in his office at the Abubakar Umar Secretariat in Bauchi. He noted that one of the governor's efforts and commitments is to ensure the protection of lives and properties of Bauchi State citizens and non-citizens, which aligns with the objectives of establishing the agency, apart from its empowerment initiatives.
During his address to the students, Dr. Shayi called on them to fervently pray for the success of Governor Bala Mohammad’s administration. The students’ delegation expressed their appreciation to Governor Bala Mohammad for appointing a professional like Dr. Shayi as the Director General of the agency.
The students noted that Dr. Shayi is also the Assistant Commandant General (ACG) of Operations for the Nigeria Hunters and Forestry Security Service, Bauchi State Command, and a member of the Special Constabulary Police Unit. They emphasized that Bauchi State has become a crime-free zone due to Dr. Shayi's security background and extensive experience, in collaboration with conventional security agencies across the state.
The students appealed for more security reinforcement around their respective campuses to ensure a conducive learning environment. They also appreciated the university management for their efforts.
The students applauded the agency for displaying transparency, professionalism, and integrity while fulfilling its commitments and obligations across the state.
