The automatic payment system introduced by Dr Nasir Sabo Idris in the state's internal revenue system has been highly commendable.

He has clinically, anthropologically, and intellectually cleaned up the mess in the revenue system of Jigawa State and introduced a globally acceptable standard of revenue collection services.

The Jigawa State Board of Internal Revenue has been transformed through the engagement of all critical stakeholders, adherence to best practices and regulations, and effective guidelines.

Another key achievement under Dr. Nasir's leadership as Executive Chairman is establishing the Jigawa State Integrated Tax Administration System (JIGTAS). The newly introduced JIGTAS enables digital enumeration and registration of taxpayers, online assessment and generation of e-invoices and e-receipts, provision of various payment channels, and maintenance of a reliable taxpayer database across the state.

Electronic platforms have also been introduced to collect levies and fees from businesses and MDAs of government agencies and ministries across the state.

Unique payment IDs and QR codes were successfully introduced across all strata for collection purposes, aiming to improve, maintain, and sustain better governance and economic growth in Jigawa State.

The state has adopted new approaches to tax collection through amendments to existing tax laws, legislative guidelines, and service delivery systems to enhance proactive revenue collection mechanisms. This includes adopting presumed tax regimes among smaller businesses.

There has been a 50% reduction in tax grievances and operational mechanisms among businesses and MDAs.

The state has also consolidated business-related government charges, fees, and taxes into a single demand notice (one-time payment for a year) with the DLR achieved for up to three consecutive years.

The publication of collection numbers on the state's website ensures effective transparency and prudent financial management.
