Niger Food and Security Systems and Logistics Limited, also known as Niger Foods, a state-owned private enterprise championing the agricultural revolution under Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago, has organized a training program on the effective use of farming equipment to enhance agricultural mechanisation in the state.

The week-long training, held in Minna, involves 150 participants drawn from all 25 local government areas of the state.

Dr. Eric Alawo, the General Manager of Agric Food for Origin Technology and head of the training team, explained that the training aims to equip the operators with the necessary knowledge for optimal use of the farming equipment.

He described the agricultural policy of Governor Bago as a game changer in the agricultural industry, emphasizing the importance of mechanisation.

Dr. Alawo urged the participants to make productive use of what they have learned and expressed optimism about the future of Niger Foods.

Abdulhakim Oluwaseun, the Personal Assistant to the Chairman of Niger Foods, explained the methods used to select participants. He mentioned that some participants have prior experience operating equipment with John Deere and other reputable companies, while others are retired tractor operators from the civil service.

He disclosed that the participants were selected and integrated into Niger Foods.

Some participants, in interviews, praised the initiative and expressed their gratitude for the opportunity provided by the state government.

They promised to make judicious use of the training while encouraging the residents of Niger State, especially the youth, to support and engage with the agricultural policy of Governor Umaru Bago.
