In an interview conducted two days before the local government elections in Bauchi State, Hon. Madaki Ahmed Gololo, popularly known as the "Ajiyan Gamawa," and the People's Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the upcoming election in Gamawa Local Government, responded to remarks made by a key stakeholder of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gamawa, Hon. Ali Abdullahi. The election is slated for August 17, 2024.

Hon. Ali Abdullahi had raised serious concerns about the upcoming election, alleging that most of the preparations by the Bauchi State Electoral Commission were made without adequately informing APC members. He claimed that some crucial election documents were not provided to them, and that they only learned about certain developments through the media, which he described as unfair. Abdullahi also called on the people of Gamawa to boycott the election and refrain from voting for the PDP candidate, arguing that the candidate lacked the necessary leadership skills, as demonstrated by his previous performance. He accused the PDP candidate of incompetence, bias, and a failure to listen to the people, stating that during his previous tenure, he neglected Gamawa.

In response, Hon. Madaki Gololo stated that the APC members are merely panicking due to the overwhelming support he has received from the people of Gamawa, who are pleased with his selection as the PDP candidate. He noted that the APC has been unable to campaign effectively across various parts of Gamawa because they are aware of the loss of support from the people, who remember the poor leadership displayed by the APC in the past. Gololo confidently asserted that the APC would not win in Gamawa under the current circumstances.

Gololo highlighted some of his achievements during his previous tenure as a member of the House of Representatives, representing the Gamawa constituency. He mentioned significant developments such as the construction of secondary schools in Gololo, Udubo, and Raga, as well as the drilling of over 100 boreholes, many of which have since fallen into disrepair under the APC's leadership in Gamawa. He added that if elected as chairman of Gamawa Local Government again, he would quickly resume his work, particularly in these areas, and expressed hope that the people of Gamawa would grant him the opportunity to continue delivering the benefits of democracy as he has done in the past. He urged the people not to be swayed by the APC's tactics.

Lastly, Gololo promised that if elected as Gamawa LGA Chairman, he would focus on five key agenda areas: agriculture, education, healthcare, water supply, and security, which are the major challenges currently facing Gamawa. He assured the people that, with God's help, these issues would be addressed.

In conclusion, he called on the people of Gamawa LGA to come out and vote peacefully, follow the law, and support the PDP. He also thanked the people of Gamawa for their continuous support.
