The Bauchi State Task Force on Primary Healthcare announced that the state government has released over 323 million naira into the State PHC MoU Account as part of its 2024 contribution for primary healthcare services.
To this end, the Primary Healthcare Task Force promised high-level oversight as part of ongoing efforts towards achieving universal healthcare coverage in the state.
The state's Deputy Governor, Mohammed Auwal Jatau, who is the chairman of the Task Force, disclosed this at the second quarter 2024 meeting of the State Task Force held at the conference hall of the Government House, Bauchi.
Auwal Jatau noted that the meeting would allow committee members to extensively discuss the challenges related to healthcare services and develop strategies to ensure accountability and high-level oversight on primary healthcare service delivery.
"The administration of Governor Bala Mohammed is deeply committed to providing the necessary resources and support for healthcare services at all levels through initiating laudable programs and investments that will improve the health condition of our people," he said.
The Deputy Governor also appreciated the members of the State Task Force Committee, particularly the traditional leaders and development partners, for their tireless efforts in assisting the state government to deliver on its mandate.
Also speaking, the co-chair of the Task Force and Emir of Dass, Alhaji Usman Bilyaminu Othman, reiterated the unwavering commitment of traditional institutions towards supporting primary healthcare activities for improved service delivery.
Development partners at the meeting applauded the administration of Governor Bala Mohammed for the significant investment made in the healthcare sector and pledged their continued support and partnership to achieve the desired objectives.
