The Citizens for Peace and First Aid Missions of Nigeria (CFP/FAMN) is taking significant steps towards partnering with the management of Ahmadu Bello Stadium (ABS) Kaduna. This partnership aims to enhance security measures and explore developmental activities within and around the stadium.
This initiative follows a meeting held on Friday, August 30, 2024, between CFP/FAMN delegates, led by the Commandant of the Kaduna State Command, Core Lion B. Abdulrasheed Suleman, and the ABS Manager, Coach Sama'ila Usman, in Kaduna.
During the meeting, Core Lion B. Abdulrasheed Suleman explained that the purpose of the courtesy visit was to build on a previous letter sent to the stadium management by CFP/FAMN. The organization seeks to establish a mutual understanding that will allow both parties to collaborate in areas such as training, security provision, auxiliary services, and other operational activities.
"The Citizens for Peace and First Aid Missions of Nigeria is a voluntary organization originally part of the former Man O' War of Nigeria, a paramilitary body dedicated to serving humanity. We train Nigerian youth to be vigilant and security-conscious, and we also collaborate with other government security agencies like the police and the army to prevent, protect, and prohibit any security threats to Nigerians," Suleman stated.
He added, "We are pleased to have this opportunity to discuss important issues related to our mission and vision, our areas of expertise, and to seek your partnership in our services. We also request permission to use some of your facilities during our periodic activities, including camping, recruitment, drills, and parades, as we have previously done with the management of Murtala Muhammed Square, since we are now neighbours."
In response, the ABS Manager, Coach Sama'ila Usman, who also serves as a Deputy Director in the Ministry of Sports, expressed his enthusiasm for the proposed partnership. He emphasized his dedication to initiatives that improve the lives of Nigerian youth, reflecting on his background as a former athlete and his current role as the manager of a national facility.
"Upon receiving your letter through our CSO, my thoughts went beyond the content. I felt that God had answered my prayers regarding my mission to revive Ahmadu Bello Stadium from the deteriorated state I found it in when I was posted here earlier this year. To God be the glory, you can see how life is returning to the stadium—it is now bustling with activity," Coach Usman remarked.
Coach Usman, who has a background in security, recognized the importance and significance of partnering with an organization like CFP/FAMN. He assured the team that the stadium management would soon develop a plan to formalize the partnership, focusing on fortifying the stadium's security and exploring other opportunities that would benefit both organizations, Kaduna State youth, and Nigerians at large.
It is anticipated that once this important partnership between CFP/FAMN and ABS management is finalized, Ahmadu Bello Stadium will become more secure, regain its former glory in terms of activities, and attract increased attention and influence from local, national, and international sporting events. This collaboration is expected to be a milestone achievement for the development of both organizations.
Present at the meeting were Core Lion C2 Muhammad Lawal Umar, Kano State Commandant; Core Lion M. Muhammad Ahmed, OC Provost, Kaduna Command; and S.A. Media, S.O. Sambo.
