Ambassador Umar Shayi is a specialist in crime control and management, a fellow of both domestic and international security bodies, and a true champion of public peace, confidence, and the security of lives and property across Bauchi State and beyond.
He currently serves as the Senior Special Assistant on Security Matters to Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, Director General of the Bauchi State Vigilante and Youth Empowerment Agency, Assistant Commandant General (Operations) of the Nigeria Hunters and Forestry Security Service, and Commandant of the Special Constabulary Police in Bauchi State.
Dr. Shayi's numerous positions and extensive experience speak volumes about his strategic skills, deep insights, and philosophical approach to combating banditry and terrorism. His commitment to public safety and security is exemplary.
He is a staunch opponent of all forms of criminality, injustice, cruelty, and dehumanization.
In 2023, on August 17, Dr. Shayi attended a capacity-building training in the Israel Federation on "System Security." He fully participated in the international summit on system security, strategy, and counter-terrorism for the greater public good, which was organized by the Information Systems Security Association International (ISSA) from August 12-17, 2023.
