In a bid to ensure the successful realization of the ‘New Niger Agenda,’ the state government has embarked on the construction of 100 Level 2 Primary Health Care Centers across the state. This initiative is progressing smoothly with no major issues reported.
A statement from the Governor’s Special Adviser on Digital Media and Strategy, Abdulberqy Usman Ebbo, in Minna, confirmed this development. According to Ebbo, Governor Bago announced at the ceremony that approximately 20 of these centres would commence immediately, with others to follow suit.
Ebbo noted that two of the planned facilities—located at Maitumbi FM in Bosso and Old Orphanage, Nasarawa C in Chanchaga Local Government Areas—have faced delays due to technical issues.
Governor Bago emphasized that these Level 2 Primary Health Care Centers will be strategically placed across the 25 local government areas of the state, ensuring that residents have access to quality healthcare services within their communities, and reducing the need for long-distance travel.
The centres will be equipped with state-of-the-art medical facilities, including beds, maternity equipment, computer systems, and a 24-hour solar power system to guarantee effective and efficient service delivery.
Abdulberqy Ebbo highlighted that out of the 100 Level 2 Primary Health Care Centers being constructed, about 20 are expected to be completed in the coming weeks. This underscores Governor Mohammed Umar Bago’s commitment to prioritizing the health sector and improving healthcare facilities in the state.
The following locations have been identified for the ongoing projects and their respective local government areas:
Chanchaga: Old Airport, Tunga Bay Clinic Road, and Kpakungu
Kontagora: Commercial School and Kawo Ward
