The Local Government Election Petitions Tribunal in Adamawa State has received nine petitions challenging both the candidacy and the recent local government council (LGC) elections conducted across the 21 local government areas (LGAs) in the state.

The petitioners include Mohammed Jalo, Mustapha Yusuf, Abraham Innocent, Ja'afaru Umar, Khalled Yaro, and Zacharia Adamu Umar, who are ADC candidates for Gombi, Song, Girei, Maiha, Mubi North, and Jada LGAs, respectively.

Other petitioners are Muhammed Lawan Bello and Shehu Inuwa, both ADC chairmanship candidates for Fufore and Yola North LGAs. Additionally, Gamaliel Gandume of the Labour Party is challenging the candidacy of Hon. Barr. Kassa Dangi Shallom of the PDP, who was declared the winner of the LG poll conducted in Guyuk LGA.

All the ADC candidates have filed petitions against the Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission, the PDP, and its candidates who were declared winners in the affected LGAs.

The aggrieved ADC candidates are contesting both the qualifications of the PDP candidates and the elections that led to the emergence of all candidates fielded by the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.
