In efforts to ensure the complete restoration of public safety across the state, the Bauchi State Vigilante and Youth Empowerment Agency has launched operations against “bad elements” who have been terrorizing the state. This development was revealed to media outlets in Bauchi by Director General Umar Shayi.

Dr. Shayi noted that a large number of dangerous youths were dispersed during their attempts to loot and vandalize public stores and properties.

The agency, in collaboration with conventional security outfits, called on the general public to provide authentic information to help identify and apprehend these bad elements in the interest of peace, development, and economic growth, said Dr. Shayi.

Meanwhile, the State Vigilante and Youth Empowerment Agency has commended the efforts of the Bauchi State government in providing logistics and resources to ensure the total elimination of criminal activities in the state.

In a related development, a 24-hour curfew was imposed in Katagum Local Government Area of Bauchi State, as announced by Governor Bala Mohammed shortly after an emergency meeting with security stakeholders.

The imposition of the curfew is necessary for the interest of peace, development, and public safety, the governor noted.
