The Niger State House of Assembly Standing Committee on Housing, Urban Renewal, and Rural Development has commended the Niger State Community and Social Development Agency (CSDA) for executing impactful and purposeful projects across the state.
The commendation was made by the Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Engr. Mohammed Alhaji Haruna, who represents the Bida South Constituency, during an oversight visit to several completed and ongoing projects undertaken by the CSDA.
The projects inspected by the Committee included the Primary Health Care Centre at Farm Centre, Tunga; Primary Health Care Centre, Kaffin Tela, Tudun Wada North; General Hospital Minna Doctor’s Quarters; Primary Health Care Centre with Staff Quarters and an open drainage system for the Health Clinic at Kpango, Maikunkele, in Bosso Local Government Area; Farin Doki Community Primary School in Paikoro Local Government Area; and the New Old Airport Primary Health Care Centre.
Engr. Haruna praised the State Ministry of Rural and Community Development and the CSDA for their commendable efforts in bringing social development to grassroots communities, aligning with the priorities of the current administration led by Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago.
In his remarks, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Rural and Community Development, Alhaji Umaru Abubakar Zukogi, expressed gratitude to the Committee for their visit. He emphasized that all the projects were community-driven, initiated based on the needs identified by the communities themselves. He further noted that these projects are spread across the 274 wards of the state.
Earlier, the General Manager of the Niger State Community and Social Development Agency (NGCSDA), Hajiya A’isha Abdulkadir, thanked the Chairman and Committee members for their oversight visit. She highlighted that the visit provided an opportunity for them to become more acquainted with the agency’s mandate and the significant impact of its projects on rural communities across the state.
