In a significant move to enhance education across Bauchi State, the Government Day Technical College (GDTC) Bauchi has been transformed into a world-class institution under the leadership of Governor Bala Mohammed and the Ministry of Education.

Alhaji Adamu Hussaini Abubakar, the principal of GDTC Bauchi, made this announcement during an interview at his office, where he praised the efforts of the Bauchi State government in improving the quality of education. He specifically commended the leadership of Hon. Commissioner Dr. Jamila Mohammad Dahiru for her commitment to educational development.

“The efforts of Hon. Commissioner Dr. Jamila Dahiru, under the supervision of Governor Bala Mohammad Abdulkadir, have played a pivotal role in the enhancement of education in Bauchi State,” the principal stated.

He further explained that GDTC Bauchi now boasts 17 different departments, including Electrical, Building Technology, Carpentry, Mechanical Engineering, Automobiles, Photography, Radio and Television, Satellite Settings, Cosmetology, Welding and Fabrication, Plumbing and Pipe Settings, Aluminum Works, and Agricultural Mechanization, among others.

The school’s improvements were made possible through a partnership between the Bauchi State government and the African Development Bank. The principal noted that the collaboration reflects the responsible leadership and commitment of Governor Bala Mohammad’s administration to uphold global standards in education across the state.

In addition to the renovations, GDTC Bauchi has been restructured into two categories: Junior and Senior sections, with a total student enrollment of approximately 5,000. The school is supported by 81 teaching staff members, including those from the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) and the Ministry of Education.

The principal emphasized the college’s excellent learning environment, noting that the institution is equipped with nine classrooms designed to support effective teaching and learning. Some of the key courses offered at the school include Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Basic Education.

He also praised the dedication of both teaching and non-teaching staff, who he said have shown unwavering commitment to their duties with sincerity, diligence, and a strong sense of responsibility.

The principal appealed to parents to support the government’s policies aimed at improving education standards under Governor Bala Mohammad’s administration, emphasizing that the government has provided all the necessary conditions for conducive learning.

He called on stakeholders to promote creative initiatives within society to encourage younger generations to become self-reliant and sustainable in the future. Drawing parallels with global superpowers like China, the UK, and the US, he highlighted how these nations achieved technological and scientific advancement through a focus on education.

Concluding his remarks, the principal urged teachers to maintain professionalism, honesty, and transparency in their work, reminding them of their responsibility to guide and educate the students properly.

The principal also announced that the Governor has approved the construction of additional classrooms at the NITEL Site in Bauchi, further underscoring the administration’s commitment to improving educational infrastructure.
