The Provost of the College of Medicine at CUSTECH, Prof. Solomon Avidime, will be honored with the traditional title of Odovidi Engnwu-Oniya of Ihima Kingdom on December 30, 2024.
This conferment is part of the activities marking the 16th anniversary of the reign of the Ohi of Ihima and Chairman of the Okehi Local Government Traditional Council, His Royal Highness Ahmed O. Abdulraheem.
The title recognizes Prof. Avidime's exceptional contributions to humanity, his integrity, and his efforts toward improving healthcare services and advancing education in Kogi State, particularly within the Ihima community.
Prof. Avidime was the pioneer Chief Medical Director of the Reference Hospital in Okene, where he achieved remarkable milestones. Currently serving as the inaugural Provost of the College of Medicine at CUSTECH, Osara, he was also a recipient of the Daily Post Leadership Award 2024, in recognition of his outstanding leadership and accomplishments as CMD of the Reference Hospital, Okene.
As part of the anniversary celebrations, the Ohi of Ihima will launch a booklet titled Hard Drugs Destroy, aimed at raising awareness among youths about the dangers of drug abuse.
The event is scheduled to take place on December 30, 2024, at the Ihima Civic Center, Ohueta, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
