The Emir of Zazzau, Malam Ahmad Bamalli, has called on the Nigerian Navy to revisit and revive the abandoned Navy Secondary School project at Farakwai in Igabi Local Government Area, Kaduna State.
Represented by the District Head of Basawa, Alhaji Haruna Bamalli, the emir made the appeal during the inauguration of the Samaru Healthcare Center Extension Project, a facility donated to the Samaru community in Sabon Gari Local Government by the Nigerian Navy.
The royal father commended the Nigerian Navy for the healthcare project but stressed that reviving the school project would enhance civil-military relations, bolster security, and contribute to the area's socio-economic development. He noted that completing the school would create more educational opportunities for local youths, reducing vulnerability to negative influences.
The Emir also urged the Samaru community to make judicious use of the healthcare facility while praising Rear-Admiral Ibrahim Dewu for facilitating the project.
Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, represented by Dr. Bello Jamoh, Executive Secretary of the Kaduna State Primary Healthcare Board, inaugurated the facility. Governor Sani stated that the event symbolized a shared commitment between the state government and the Nigerian Navy to improve citizens' healthcare. He reaffirmed the state government’s dedication to advancing maternal and neonatal health, disease prevention, immunization, and other critical health services.
Vice-Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla, Chief of Naval Staff, highlighted the Samaru Healthcare Center Extension as part of the Navy’s Quick Impact Intervention Scheme in honor of Rear-Admiral Ibrahim Dewu. Represented by Rear-Admiral J.A. Nwagu, Ogalla explained that the scheme is designed to support communities associated with serving Rear-Admirals, fostering civil-military relations and community development.
“The Nigerian Navy is here to show solidarity with the community, reaffirming our readiness to serve and protect the people of this nation,” Ogalla stated.
The inauguration marks a significant step toward improving healthcare services and strengthening collaboration between the military and local communities.
