The National President of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Baba Othman Ngelzarma, led a high-profile delegation to the inauguration of the Ngarannam Livestock Settlement (RUGA) in Mafa Local Government Area, Borno State. The settlement aims to empower pastoralist communities and promote sustainable livestock development.
In a statement signed by Yusuf Abubakar, Special Assistant on Digital Media and Publicity, Ngelzarma expressed gratitude to Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, for his visionary leadership in making the initiative a reality. He also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his steadfast support for pastoralist welfare and livestock sector reforms.
The MACBAN President extended special appreciation to Hon. Alhaji Idi Mukhtar Maiha, Minister of Livestock Development; Professor Attahiru M. Jega, Co-Chairman of the Presidential Livestock Reforms Implementation Committee; HRH The Sultan of Sokoto; and HRH Shehu of Borno for their dedicated efforts in advancing the livestock industry and guiding the initiative.
The Ngarannam RUGA project is poised to transform pastoralist communities through improved access to education, healthcare, and infrastructure, setting a benchmark for sustainable livestock development. MACBAN reaffirmed its commitment to fostering growth, peace, and prosperity across Nigeria's pastoralist communities.
