As Muslims around the world celebrate the sacred Eid-El-Kabir, Dr. Awwal Abdullahi Aliyu, Director-General of the Youth Reformation and Leadership Skills Development Foundation, has extended his warmest felicitations to the Muslim Ummah.

In a statement signed and made available to newsmen, Dr. Awwal described the festival as a time of reflection, gratitude, and togetherness, calling on Muslims to draw inspiration from the obedience and sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim (AS).

“This joyous occasion is a time for reflection, gratitude, and celebration with loved ones. As we commemorate the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son, we are reminded of the importance of obedience, faith, and sacrifice,” the statement read.

He urged Muslims to intensify prayers for peace, unity, and stability in Nigeria, praying for Allah's acceptance of sacrifices and supplications during the festive period.

“As we celebrate this Eid-El-Kabir, I call on Muslims to pray for the peace, unity, and stability of our country. May Allah accept our sacrifices and prayers, and may we return to our daily lives with renewed faith and vigor,” he stated.

Dr. Awwal also emphasized the need to pray for national development and the guidance of Nigeria’s leaders. “May Allah guide our leaders and bless them with wisdom to make decisions that will benefit the nation,” he added.

On the issue of insecurity, Dr. Awwal stressed the importance of collective efforts, both in prayer and in action, to restore peace and security across the country.

He further called on the Federal Government to create an enabling environment for industries to thrive, which, he noted, would stimulate economic growth, create jobs, and improve the standard of living for Nigerians.

Addressing the youth, Dr. Awwal encouraged them to embrace education and skills acquisition as a pathway to self-reliance and national development.

“Youth restiveness and agitation can be drastically reduced if our young people are educated and empowered. Let us work together to create opportunities for youth to acquire skills and become productive members of society,” he said.

He reaffirmed the commitment of the Youth Reformation and Leadership Skills Development Foundation to partnering with government and other stakeholders to promote youth empowerment and development.

“As a foundation, we remain dedicated to advocating for policies and programs that benefit our youth and contribute to national progress,” he stated.

Dr. Awwal also underscored the importance of peaceful coexistence, noting that Nigeria’s diversity should be a source of strength, not division.

“As we celebrate this Eid-El-Kabir, let us remember the value of peaceful coexistence. We must work to build a society that is inclusive and harmonious, where people of all cultures and faiths can live together in peace,” he added.

He expressed appreciation to the foundation’s partners and supporters, while urging beneficiaries to remain committed and take full advantage of opportunities provided.

“Let us pray for our country and our leaders. May Allah guide them in making wise decisions. Let us also pray for our youth — that they may be empowered to become the leaders of tomorrow,” he concluded.

Dr. Awwal wished all Muslims a joyous and blessed Eid-El-Kabir, praying that Allah (SWT) accepts their sacrifices and renews their strength and faith.
