No fewer than 600 students have graduated in Qur'anic recitation from Madarasatul Hizburahim in Funtua.
Our correspondent reports that some of the students have successfully completed the memorization of the Glorious Qur'an.
The Headmaster of the Islamiyya school, Ustaz Salisu Tasi'u, expressed his gratitude to the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa'ad Abubakar III, who has been leading the school's ceremonies for over a decade.
Speaking during the event, Ustaz Salisu said, "Today, we celebrate 33 students who have completed the memorization of the Glorious Qur'an and 580 students who have completed its recitation." He further noted that married women were among the graduates.
He added that Madarasatul Hizburahim has over 800 branches across several northern states, including Kano, Katsina, Kaduna, Bauchi, and Zamfara.
In his goodwill message, the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa'ad Abubakar III, commended the teachers of Hizburahim for their unwavering dedication and sacrifice in promoting Islamic knowledge in the region. He also praised Khalifa Aliyu Sa'idu Alti for organizing the event and ensuring the sustainability of the school.
Speaking on behalf of Katsina State Governor Malam Dikko Umar Radda, the Secretary to the Government of Katsina State, Alhaji Abdullahi Garba, reiterated the administration's commitment to prioritizing Islamic education. He pledged to provide the school with the necessary teaching and learning facilities to further enhance Islamic knowledge in the state.
In his vote of thanks, Khalifa Aliyu Sa'idu Alti expressed his appreciation to the Sultan of Sokoto and the Katsina State Governor for their consistent support of the school’s mission. He also acknowledged Senator Muntari Dan Dutse, Honorable Abubakar Muhammad Total, and the member representing Funtua/Dandume Federal Constituency for their contributions to the development of Hizburahim Islamiyya School in Funtua.
