The Funtua Unity Foundation Forum in Katsina State has paid an official visit to the site of the newly established Federal University of Medical and Health Sciences, Funtua.
Speaking during the visit, the chairman of the forum, Comrade Mannir Sulaiman, stated that the purpose of the visit was to assess the progress of the university's development.
He commended the Federal Government and the Katsina State Government, under the leadership of Governor Dr. Dikko Umar Radda, for their swift action in ensuring the university's immediate takeoff by providing adequate funding for the necessary infrastructure.
Comrade Sulaiman emphasized that the establishment of the university was timely and would provide young people with the opportunity to further their education. He expressed confidence that the presence of the institution in the Funtua zone would significantly enhance educational development among the youth.
He also described Governor Radda as a leader who values education and is committed to its revival for the benefit of the people of the state.
In his remarks, the senior trustee of the association and former permanent secretary, Alhaji Hassan Musa, expressed satisfaction with the progress of construction at the university. He urged students aspiring to further their education to take advantage of the opportunity and enroll in the institution.
Alhaji Musa also called on communities in the Funtua zone to continue supporting the policies and programs of the current administration to achieve its objectives.
In a vote of thanks, the association's legal adviser, Barrister Magaji Liman, highlighted that the university was established in accordance with Nigerian laws, considering the area's population density.
He commended both the federal and state governments for establishing the institution, noting that it would also boost the socio-economic activities of the region. He further urged host communities to remain law-abiding to ensure the success of the university.
