As Muslims around the world celebrate this year’s Eid-el-Fitr, the Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, and the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abdulmalik Sarkindaji, have urged the Muslim Ummah to remain steadfast in their worship of Allah beyond the Ramadan period.

In their separate messages to the Muslim community, they congratulated the faithful on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast, describing it as a spiritually rewarding exercise.

Governor Bago, in a statement issued through his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, reminded Muslims that the teachings of the Qur'an and Hadith emphasize peace, love, discipline, and humility. He stressed that the worship of Allah is not limited to the Ramadan fast but is a lifelong commitment.

Expressing gratitude to Allah for His guidance throughout the Ramadan period, the governor noted that the essence of Eid revolves around love, charity, and peaceful coexistence with people of other faiths. He called on the Muslim Ummah to use the occasion to pray for lasting peace in Nigeria, particularly in Niger State, and for leaders to remain dedicated to selfless service.

Governor Bago reiterated his administration’s commitment to building a "New Niger," where inclusivity and development would thrive.

Similarly, Speaker Rt. Hon. Mohammed Abdulmalik Sarkindaji, in a statement issued by Mairo Adamu Mani, Acting Head of the Media and Public Relations Directorate, congratulated the Muslim Ummah on the successful completion of this year’s Ramadan fast.

“On behalf of the leadership and members of the 10th Assembly, I extend warm felicitations to all Muslims in Niger State and beyond. We are delighted to see the Muslim community come together to observe the holy month of Ramadan, demonstrating unwavering commitment to their faith,” the statement read.

The Speaker emphasized that the sacred period of fasting, reflection, and spiritual growth has strengthened the bond between Muslims and deepened their relationship with Allah.

He used the Eid celebration as an opportunity to call on Nigerians to continue praying for the present administration, adding that ongoing economic reforms would bring about the desired transformation in the country. He specifically urged the people of Niger State to support the administration of Governor Bago to realize the "New Niger" vision.

Sarkindaji also assured that the 10th Assembly would continue to enact laws that have a direct and positive impact on the lives of the people.

The Speaker highlighted the role of Ramadan in fostering unity, empathy, and compassion among both Muslims and non-Muslims. He encouraged all Nigerians to uphold the spirit of togetherness, promoting peace and understanding across the nation.
