Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, has condoled with the families of four children who lost their lives in a tragic motor accident along the Birnin Kebbi-Jega road.

Visiting the bereaved families at the Sarki Kabi Jega Palace on Saturday, the governor expressed deep sympathy over the incident, describing it as an act of God that must be accepted with faith.

Governor Idris, who had earlier sent his deputy with a N10 million donation to the families, personally donated an additional N10 million to support them in their time of grief. He prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive the souls of the departed and grant them Jannatul Firdaus.

During his visit, the governor also commended the Tafidan Jega and former EFCC Chairman, Abdulrasheed Bawa Jega, for renovating the Sarkin Jega Palace, describing it as a commendable effort towards community development.

Speaking on behalf of the bereaved families, Sarkin Kabi, Alhaji Muhammad Arizka Bawa, expressed gratitude to the governor for his unwavering commitment to peace and development in Jega and Kebbi State at large.

"You have done so much for us in Jega, and we will reciprocate by supporting your administration’s success. We also stand firmly with you in achieving your second-term aspirations," he assured.

In a related development, Governor Idris paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Faruku Hajala, where he also donated N10 million. Describing Hajala as both a friend and brother, he prayed for his soul, saying, "Hajala, may your soul rest in peace, and may Jannatul Firdaus be your final abode."

The governor also pledged to continue paying the school fees of the deceased’s children, especially those studying abroad.

Accompanying the governor on the condolence visits were several top government officials, including Head of Service Abubakar Shekare Mallamai, Rector of Waziri Umaru Federal Polytechnic Birnin-Kebbi Dr. Usman Tunga, Federal House of Representatives Member Hon. Bello Kaoje, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs Alhaji Garba Umar Dutsinmari, Special Adviser on Civil Service Affairs Alhaji Sufiyanu Garba-Bena, Commissioner for Religious Affairs Arc. Sani, Commissioner for Youth and Sports A.I. Suru, and other dignitaries.
