The Executive Chairman of Jema’a Local Government Area, Kaduna State, Mr. Peter Tanko Dogara, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to working closely with traditional institutions to drive development across the region.
During a two-day working tour, Mr. Dogara led the entire Local Government Council and management staff to visit the palaces of key traditional rulers, including the Kpop Gwong, Mr. Paul Zakkah Wyom; the Emir of Jama’a, Alhaji Muhammadu Isa Muhammadu; and the Tum Nikyob, Mr. Tanko Tete. He expressed gratitude to the people for their trust in his administration and assured them of his dedication to fulfilling his mandate.
Highlighting recent achievements, Mr. Dogara noted the council’s efforts in paying WAEC and JAMB fees for 550 students and securing employment opportunities for citizens. He also praised Governor Uba Sani’s people-oriented projects and urged continued public support.
In response, the traditional rulers commended the chairman for his outreach and presented pressing issues affecting their communities, including poor road infrastructure, inadequate healthcare, lack of potable water, and security concerns.
The tour continued with visits to the Zikpak, Godogodo, and Barde chiefdoms, where Mr. Dogara reiterated his commitment to improving residents' living conditions and strengthening collaboration with traditional institutions. The Agwam Zikpak, Mr. Josiah Kantyok, emphasized the need for peaceful coexistence as a foundation for progress.
Meanwhile, the Chief of Godogodo, Reverend Dr. Habila Sa’idu, urged the council to resolve boundary disputes, while the Chief of Barde, Mr. Njebi Daniel Lemson, raised concerns about insecurity in his chiefdom.
Across all the chiefdoms, requests for better palaces, road rehabilitation, improved security, and potable water were presented to the Jema’a council for urgent attention.
Mr. Dogara assured the traditional leaders that their concerns would be addressed, stressing his administration’s commitment to ensuring sustainable development in the local government area.
