A total of 3,561 primary and secondary school teachers have received Ramadan palliative from the Speaker of the House of Representative, Dr. Abas Tajuddeen in Zaria.
The distribution exercise which has entered its 11th day, was been chaired and monitored by Engineer Muhammad Jamil Ahmed "JAGA", Council Chairman Zaria local government area.
Dr. Abas Tajuddeen, NASS Speaker who initially flagged off the exercise at his campaign office in Dan Magaji last week said the gesture was aimed at cushioning the hardship and bringing succour to his constituents during the Holy month of Ramadan.
He stated that apart from the combination of rice, millet, semovita, Noodles, Spaghetti and groundnut oil, all Head teachers in primary schools across Zaria local government have been given a brand new motorcycle to reduce transfortation difficulties to their duty post.
The Speaker also informed that 2,160 Islamic religious organizations, 584 political leaders of polling units and heads of 13 wards will also benefit from the assorted food stuff.
Others to enjoy the palliative, according to the Speaker includes Women and Youth groups, Orhans and the Vulnerable as well as workers at various institutions within the local government area.
This will include staff of Federal University of Education, FUE, ABU Kongo campus, Media organizations and ABU teaching hospital Zaria among others.
Monitoring the distribution at various points, Engineer Jamil Ahmed "JAGA" expressed satisfaction with the level of transparency and accountability being exhibited by those in charge.
He explained that the exercise will continue until all section of people in the constituency benefitted from the Speaker's gesture.
Engineer JAGA urged beneficiaries to use the palliative judiciously and pray for the Speaker, and peace and stability of the nation.
